Kelly Clarkson is a huge fan of Eurovision, and said that the country needs this kind of competition. The upcoming show is an American spinoff of the ever famous show called Eurovision Song Contest.
What Is Eurovision?
Also called Eurovision, the show was founded in 1956 by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU). Its primary objective was to unite European countries after the bloody World War II. The songwriting competition paved the way for the discovery of some of the world’s most famous musicians, including Celine Dion and Abba.
Participating countries send one act to the show every year. Each act could consist of one person or a group of up to six individuals to represent their nations. Every act will have three minutes to perform their original songs. They are allowed to use any props as long as they don’t involve live animals. Then the judges and the public will vote to choose the best songwriter.
American Song Contest
Now America will have the chance to find its next greatest songwriter. The American spinoff will have the same rules. Each of the 56 states and territories can send one representative to compete in the show.
