Ruston Kelly will soon hit the road on his just-announced 29-city run set Shape & Destroy North American tour – which will span from October 7 to November 21, 2021. Live music has been ramping back up since the year began, and Ruston Kelly is getting in on the action.
In Kelly’s words, “We’ve been waiting as patiently as possible to tour this album and it’s finally time to do it. Lots of these songs were written on the road, in the back of the bus, backstage, in hotel rooms, etc. The road is a large part of the energy in these songs. I think that’s a huge reason this tour will be so special, the anticipation and excitement are going to blow the roof off of every venue in every city.”
About the Tour
Interestingly, the Shape and Destroy North American Tour, which shares its name with Kelly’s 2020 album, has already sold out a pair of November dates at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. Taking its first leap in Canada, Kelly will make his way through North America in October and November, ending the tour with a date in Minneapolis, Minn., on November 21st, 2021.
During the Shape and Destroy Tour, Kelly promises a wide range of material that will cover his entire career but focus on his most recent album. After years of writing songs for artists including – Tim McGraw and the Josh Abbott Band, Shape and Destroy was Kelly’s second solo album – produced by Jarrad Kritzstein.
While Ruston Kelly spoke with MusicRow yet again, he said, “Whatever someone might get out of listening to this record and hearing me express myself in this way, it’s completely theirs.”
Who Will be Joining Ruston Kelly on the Tour?
Joining Kelly on tour is none other but the most adored indie-folk singer-songwriter, Margaret Glaspy. She also released her second studio album, Devotion, in 2020; it was named one of the 20 essential albums released in the first six months of 2020 by BBC Radio 6 Music.
