What Happened To Diamond Rio?

What happened to Diamond Rio?  If you were a country music fan during the 1990’s, then no doubt you are a Diamond Rio fan.  The band’s iconic song “Meet Me In The Middle” blazed to number one on country music charts in 1991 and won them a handful of awards and nominations.

Diamond Rio was actually founded in the 1980’s, and was known as Tennessee River Boys, an Opryland band that graced the stage in Nashville.  Over the years the Tennessee River Boys lost a few players, gained some new ones, scored a record deal, and hit the big time with “Meet Me In The Middle.”

Is Diamond Rio Still Together?

Throughout the 1990’s the former Opry band continued to heat up the country music charts with some of their popular songs, “In A Week Or Two,” “That’s What I Get For Lovin’ You,” “Workin Man’s Blues,” and “How Your Love Makes Me Feel.”

So, where is Diamond Rio today?  Well, you may not hear them on the country music airwaves like you did in the 90’s, but the band is still cranking out music and even began dabbling in Christian music.

Saw Diamond Rio last night at the park in Hendersonville TN. The concert was great! They still have the same original members except for a new drum player ( Micah Schweinsberg) who has been in the music business many years and is a great drummer. The band still sounds like they did in the 90s. Well worth seeing if you get the chance!

Did see them up close in small venue here in Fort Worth about 2012. Thought they were fantastic!
