Lady A released a new track titled “Like A Lady”, after their monster hit song of last year, “Champagne Night”. The new song serves as a source of encouragement to the many women out there to be proud of their gender, and standing up for their decisions with confidence.
The Inspiration Behind Lady A’s “Like A Lady”
The group is made up of three band members- lead vocalist, Hilary Scott, alongside guitarists Charles Kelley, and Dave Haywood. ” Like A Lady” was co-written by Hilary with lyrical inputs from Martin Johnson, Michelle Buzz, Brandon Paddock, and Dave Barnes. Hilary says she was inspired to write the song due to the influence of two of the most successful female country singers – Dolly Parton and Shania Twain.
The songs that specifically inspired the writing of the group’s new song are Shania Twain’s 90s hit, “Man I Feel Like A Woman”, and “9 to 5” by Dolly Parton. So, the single “Like A Lady”, is a mix of both country hit songs but in a different retro version, which the trio band is known for.
Getting The Support Of Men On The New Song
The single “Like A Lady” is given that melodious country music feel of the 80s with the guitar artistry of Charles and Dave in the background. Hilary said she felt proud that Charles and Dave encouraged her immensely by shedding their masculinity and singing the song with her.
To her, it is a very strong statement from all the men of status that they will stand beside their women and push them to achieve more out of life. She expressed hope that fans will enjoy the track a whole lot as the whole world is gradually easing from the devastating effects of the coronavirus pandemic.
Dave And Charles Encourage Feminine Folk
Dave and Charles on their part expressed confidence in the track being loved by fans generally whilst inspiring a lot of women around the world at the same time. Both men revealed they were honored to have worked on the song with Hilary and other songwriters.
They said the great thing about being a mixed band was been able to write songs that took the views of both genders. This helps the group to come out with songs that are not biased towards one gender entirely.
It must be so great for Hilary Scott as a lady to feel supported by her male bandmates. Way to go, guys! Lady A has been on a musical hiatus for a while, with “Like A Lady” their first song after receiving massive airplay with their hit song of 2020, “Champagne Night”. The video for the song is soon to be released, as the group is working on the making of the video at the time of writing this piece.
