“Today we sisters experienced a tragedy. We lost our beautiful mother to the disease of mental illness,” shared the Judd sisters. And the heartbroken siblings called themselves “shattered. We are navigating profound grief,” they added. But they also expressed appreciation for her fans, noting that “her public” adored the iconic singer.

And another country music queen, Carrie Underwood, stepped up to pay tribute to Naomi. “Country music lost a true legend…sing with the angels, Naomi!!! We’re all sending up prayers for the Judd family today,” Carrie shared on Twitter.
