Sam Lowrey Hunt recently revealed that he has written several songs that will be part of his third album. The country music star stated this while being interviewed by an online publication while spending time with his mother on this year’s Mother’s Day.
This will be wonderful news for Sam Hunt fans who have been waiting to hear more from the award-winning vocalist, after the commercial success of his second album, Southside. The “Leave The Night On” singer disclosed that he has penned some songs, while others were still been worked upon.
Sam Hunt made history in September 2016 by becoming the first country music solo musician to have five singles off a debut album top the Country Airplay charts. He achieved this feat when the fifth single from his debut album Montevallo, “Make You Miss Me” topped the charts.
Hunt’s Successful “Southside” Project
Sam’s sophomore project, Southside, which was released on the 3rd of April last year, was certified platinum during the coronavirus pandemic. Its hugely commercial success can be attributed to hit songs like “Body Like A Back Road”, the soothing ballad, ” Hard To Forget”, and “Breaking Up Was Easy In The 90s”.
His hit song, “Body Like A Back Road” won the Record Of The Year at the 2018 American Country Music Awards. Presently, the third single from his second album, “Breaking Up Was Easy In The 90s”, is making waves on the Billboard Country Airplay charts.
It was expected that Sam Hunt would go on tour to promote the album, which he planned as the Southside Summer Tour. The tour was to include performances by Kip Moore, Travis Dennin, Ernest K. Smith, and Brandi Cyprus. However, it had to be canceled in the face of the outbreak of the coronavirus globally.
While eager to get back to life as a touring musician, Sam does not intend to go on a full tour, as he has planned to perform in some festivals this year.
New Sam Hunt Songs To Be Released Soon
During his interview with Katie Neal, the 36-year-old country music star revealed that his fans should expect to hear his new tracks sometime between June to August this year. He added that the new songs were still been worked upon before compiling them into an album.
However, while the album is being meticulously worked on, Sam intends to tease his fans with the release of a few singles from June. So, fans of the Georgia native don’t have long to wait before hearing his new tracks.
Sam Hunt is married to Hannah Ann Fowler, with whom he had an on-and-off relationship since 2008. They got married on the 15th of April, 2017 in Cedartown, Georgia, his hometown. He revealed in an interview that she was the inspiration for his first album, Montevallo. He even referred to her in one of the songs off the album, ” Drinkin’ Too Much”.
