Taylor Swift New Song: Breathe Ft Colbie Callait

Taylor Swift may have changed up the vocals and the production of her re-release of Breathe, but she did not change her co-singer on the track. A 20-second clip of the song featuring Colbie Caillat was recently released on Tumblr, which is notably Swift’s favorite website.

The singer teased the clip along with a throwback picture that’s never been seen before from the Fearless era in honor of the coming of her album, Fearless (Taylor’s Version). And fans can breathe, the anticipated album is only hours away.

Taylor Swift Re-recording Breathe

The 20-second clip is a prelude of what fans can expect to hear on the upcoming 27-track album that will include 6 Fearless era songs that did not make it into the Grammy award winning album at the time.

“You’re the only thing I know like the back of my hand. And I can’t breathe without you but I have to,” Taylor gently sings in the original version of the song released in 2008.

Caillat spoke to Insider praising Swift for her songwriting skills and calling the entire re-recording process fascinating.

“She knows a lot about every person she’s in the room with and genuinely has an interest. She makes you feel like she loves your work and she has known you forever,” Caillat told Insider. “I just remember she was so young, and the song she came in with, it was just beautiful.”

“I had so much respect for her,” Caillat added. “I think the song that we did, it was a really special thing. She was writing about something she was going through with a band member at the time, and she was pouring her heart out about it.” Swift and Caillat wrote the track together.

The fan-favorite collaboration track was nominated for best pop collaboration at the 2010 Grammy Awards but lost to Jason Mraz’s Lucky.

Fearless (Taylor’s Version)

Fearless is notably Taylor Swift’s first massively successful album with international cross-over singles like Love Story, You Belong With Me and others. It’s not that much of a wonder that Swift would pick a career defining album to kickstart the journey of re-recording all the albums she released through Big Machine Records.

She released Fearless (Taylor’s Version) first single Love Story (Taylor’s Version) in February, followed by singles of two songs she had written in 2008 but did not release at the time. You All Over Me released in March features Maren Morris. On Thursday, Swift released Mr. Perfectly Right. The new songs also include That’s When featuring Keith Urban.

Swift appeared on Good Morning America and shared a snippet of Fearless (Taylor’s Version). “I just wanted to say, first of all, you guys have been so supportive at Good Morning America since day one of this entire process of me re-recording my music,” Swift announced as she introduced the clip. “I’m so ecstatic that my album Fearless (Taylor’s Version) will be out tonight. It’s crazy that it’s finally here.”
