Where is Tanya Tucker from? Tanya Denise Tucker is a country music icon, who rose to stardom at the tender age of 13 with her 1972 hit, “Delta Dawn”. Tucker is one of the few musicians to maintain her celebrity status from a tender age through to adulthood and into old age.
Tanya Tucker is know for hit songs like “What’s Your Mama’s Name?”, “Strong Enough to Bend”, “Lizzie and the Rainman”, “Two Sparrows in a Hurricane”, and “Blood Red and Goin’ Down”. Growing Up And Rise To Stardom
Tanya Tucker was born on the 10th of October, 1958 in Seminole, Texas. She is the youngest of four kids born to her parents, Jesse and Jusnita Tucker. Tanya grew up in Willcox, Arizona with her two older brothers, Robert and Don, and her sister, the singer La Costa.
Tanya’s love for country music started at an early age with the family listening to country songs in the evenings from the only radio station broadcasting in the area. After performing alongside several country music stars at the time, she got her breakthrough in 1969 when her demo tape caught the attention of songwriter Dolores Fuller.
She got signed by Columbia Records after Billy Sherill, the head of artists management, listened to her demo tape. Since them, Tanya has released several songs that went to become hit songs.
Between 1979 and 1984, Tanya Tucker suffered a decline in the sale of her songs, making her go through depression. She then made a massive resurgence in 1986 with her hit track, “One Love at A Time”.
Tanya Tucker Relationships And Marriage
Tanya has dated several celebrities, the most notable one been her relationship with Glen Campbell, which was between 1980 and 1981. She then had short-lived relationships with Andy Gibb, Don Johnson, and Merle Haggard.
Her next relationship of note was with the actor, Ben Reed. They share two kids between them, their daughter Presley, who was born on the 5th of July, 1989, and son Beau, who was born on the 2nd of October, 1991.
She then had an on-and-off relationship with Jerry Lasseter, a musician based in Nashville, Tennessee. They were engaged twice, first in 1997 and two years later in 1999. The pair share three kids, with their third kid and daughter, Layla LaCosta, making Tanya call off their 1999 wedding when she discovered she was pregnancy with her a few days before the wedding ceremony.
She said she was not going to be wedded while having a baby bump. Lasseter worked as co-producer of 3 out of Tanya’s 25 studio albums- her self-titled 2002 album, Live At Billy Bob’s Texas in 2005, and My Turn in 2009. She released her autobiography book in 1997 titled Nickel Dreams: My Life.
