Trace Adkins to Lead a Country Music Dynasty in Upcoming Movie
The Grammy award-winning singer, who made his first debut in music in 1996, has joined the cast of Fox’s midseason drama “Monarch” in a leading role. The news of his casting comes on the heels of Susan Sarandon and Anna Friel’s casting announcement.
In the series, Adkins is set to play a “Texas Truthteller” and the reigning king of country music Albie Roman. Albie, along with his insanely talented wife, Dottie Cantrell Roman (Sarandon), also described as “tough as nails”, have created a country music dynasty.
But even though the Roman name is synonymous with authenticity, the very foundation of their success is a lie. But when their reign as country royalty is challenged, heir to the crown Nicolette “Nicky” Roman (Friel) will stop at nothing to protect her family’s legacy, while ensuring her own quest for stardom.
Adkins, who is repped by Greg Baker and associates, has starred in many movies including 2019’s “Badland”, 2021’s “Old Henry”, and has provided his voice for the series “King of the Hill”, along with many others.
Adkins has an impressive track record as both a musician and an actor. He is best known for his number one hits “(This Ain’t) No Thinking Thing”, “Ladies Love Country Boys”, and “You’re Gonna Miss This”.
With over 11 million albums sold, along with 20 charting songs, it’s safe to say that he will bring a lot to the “Monarch” table.
