Miranda Lambert Gushes Over Grammy Nods
When the Recording Academy announced the 2022 Grammy nominations this week, Miranda Lambert felt thrilled at her multiple honors. And the singer gushed over the recognition in a statement. But Lambert also shared that certain categories mean something extra special, noted People.
As a result of receiving nominations in four different country categories, the songstress described her recognition as an “absolute honor.” And the nominations include Palomino in the crowded best country album. However, Miranda also received nominations for the album’s tracks “If I Was a Cowboy” and “In His Arms” for best country song and best country solo performance.
But Lambert also felt thrilled over getting nominated for her collaboration with Luke Combs. Called “Outrunnin’ Your Memory,” the collaboration earned a nomination for best country duo/group performance. And Miranda expressed her joy in her statement. “I’ve always viewed a Grammy Award as one of the highest honors you can achieve as an artist,” shared the singer. “I think back to creating these songs with some of my closest friends, not knowing where those writing sessions would lead,” she added. “And it blows me away to see where they’ve taken us.”
Miranda Lambert Takes Pride In Representing Country Music
But the singer/songwriter also reflected on what country music means to her. And she shared, “These nominations are an absolute honor. I’m so proud to be representing the country music community with this music that means so much to me.” However, Miranda took time to congratulate those who got nominated as well. And in her Instagram post, the singer wrote, “Well this is a Tuesday mornin I can hang my hat on!!”
Because the country music community has provided her with so many friendships, Miranda expressed gratitude. “I’m so honored to be nominated with some of my best friends. Can’t wait to celebrate country music together. And a big congrats to all the nominees. Giddy up it’s Grammy time!” added Lambert.
Singers nominated in the same category as Miranda include Kelsea Ballerini, Zach Bryan, Maren Morris, Willie Nelson, Ingrid Andress, Sam Hunt, Brothers Osborne, Reba McEntire, Dolly Parton, Carly Pearce, Ashley McBryde, Robert Plant, Alison Krauss, Taylor Swift and Cody Johnson. And music legend Tanya Tucker cheered for Lambert. “Congrats on your nominations!” wrote the country icon.
Miranda previously received three Grammy awards: best female country vocal performance from 2010 for “The House That Built Me” as well as best country album for both Platinum in 2015 and Wildcard in 2021. Fans can watch the 65th Grammy Awards on February 5. It will be held in Los Angeles.
