Shania Twain was born Eilleen Regina Edwards in 1965, in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. She was the middle child of three girls and her parents later divorced when she was just two-years-old. Shania spent much of her childhood living in poverty with her mother and sisters in Timmins, Ontario after her father left the family.

Though Shania Twain is now one of the most successful female country singers of all time, it hasn’t always been an easy road for the superstar. She overcame a lot of obstacles to get where she is today and has truly become an inspiration to fans all over the world.
