Chris Young and Kane Brown Famous Friends Music Video

Chris Young and Kane Brown dropped the track Famous Friends on the 20th of November last year, and it quickly grew to be a fan-favorite. And now, more than four months later, they’re treating fans to a music video of the hit country song.

The famous friends shared a video to Instagram on February 23 to let fans know that they’re working on a new music video for their collaborative single.

“Me and Chris Young here shooting our ‘Famous Friends’ music video, can’t wait for you guys to see it,” Brown commented in the video.  “It’s going to be good,” Young assured and Brown agreed with, “yessir.”

Chris Young and Kane Brown Famous Friends Video and Message

Chris Young and Kane Brown’s video for famous friends was filmed in Gallatin, Tennessee, with a number of the stars’ real-life friends making a cameo appearance in the video. The shots of their friends are also interspersed with those of a nighttime rooftop performance by Young and Brown.

Kane Brown joked in an interview that it would probably be the first time that they performed the track live. The song was co-written with Young alongside Cary Barlowe and Corey Crowder.

Their rooftop performance sees Chris Young playing the guitar, while Brown chose to dazzle with his big smile and modest dancing.

Famous Friends is a song that celebrates people in small towns even though the world at large may not be aware of their existence or their contribution, but rather whose works in their towns mean a lot to the people living in them. Chris Young first teased the song on social media in May of 2020 and got an overwhelming reaction from the fans, prompting him to release the song as a radio single.

Inspiration Behind “Famous Friends” Song

“This song is a piece of me and it means a lot because it’s honest and it’s real-life,” Young shared about how the song connects with him. “Plus, Kane and I are good friends and being able to have that history together, it adds a whole other level to the track.” He went on to say that Famous Friends is now one of his favorite songs because “it’s personal and it’s a lot of fun, so I’m glad it’s getting out there for people to hear it.”

Chris Young also said that when he and his co-writers were working on the song, they were hoping to write something cool and different, and once it was done, he sent it to Brown, who responded that he loved the song and wanted to collaborate.

The duet found the stars calling out their hometowns and the names of their “famous friends.” Kane Brown had a little bit of himself play into the song by being able to call out the name of his hometown in the song. Rutherford County, Pennsylvania is Young’s hometown and Hamilton County is Brown’s hometown and then the third town, Davidson County, was one that both musicians relate to, and since it’s Nashville, it’s also where they both currently reside.

Chris Young and Kane Brown have previously collaborated on a song called Setting the Night on Fire which appeared on the deluxe edition of Brown’s self-titled debut album. They also toured together during Chris Young’s Losing Sleep 2018 World Tour.
