Shania Adds To Country Music Group History With NEW Trio?
Shania Twain recently hinted that she might enhance country music’s history of groups with a new trio. And if she does, she’s almost guaranteed a faithful following.
For decades, country music fans have supported groups just as much as solo artists:
- Florida Georgia Line singers Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley, for example, recently revealed their “I Love My Country Tour,” set to debut in September.
- Lady A (previously known as Lady Antebellum) formed in 2006. The country music group consists of Hillary Scott, Charles Kelley, and Dave Haywood.
- Rascal Flatts debuted in 1999, featuring Gary LeVox, Jay DeMarcus, and Joe Don Rooney.
- One year before Rascal Flatts, Little Big Town took the stage with Karen Fairchild, Kimberly Schlapman, Phillip Sweet, and Jimi Westbrook.
And fans recently cheered for Miranda Lambert’s famous group, Pistol Annies. Lambert delighted her fans with an Instagram update hinting at the return of the country music group.
Now Shania Twain just might challenge Pistol Annies and the other country music groups with a new trio. Talking with Entertainment Tonight, Twain shared her desire to create a trio consisting of Shania, Blake Shelton, and Gwen Stefani.
“Well my goal is to do a trio with them,” Twain revealed. “So, when I think of Blake and Gwen, I think trio vocals. So that’s the first thing I wanna do.”
Shania’s trio talk just happens to come as she plans the return of her Las Vegas residency at Planet Hollywood. Coincidence? Or is Twain hinting that she could debut her trio with Shelton and Stefani in Las Vegas?

“I have not seem my dancers, my crew, the band, and I haven’t seen the fans. So it’s time to reunite. Time to party,” exclaimed the country music songstress.
Prior to the pandemic, Shania recalled putting “so much work into the show, from designing, to building the concept and the wardrobe to bringing a show together that I think my fans will love.” And then the COVID-19 lock-down occurred.
“And then all of a sudden it’s just stopped,” she said.
Now Twain hopes to pick up where she left off, “watching it all up and running again.”
And Shania has a special message for her country music fans who want to travel to Las Vegas to cheer her return.
“Most of all I have to say [I miss] just hugging, hugging the fans,” admitted Twain. “I hope that we’re allowed to hug by then.”
