Shania Twain Joins New Netflix Series
Shania Twain is headed to Netflix! Fans of pop music are about to be taken back into time with the streaming of a new series dedicated to pop music. Netflix is collaborating with Banger Films to produce a documentary series about pop music titled “This Is Pop”.
The docuseries which will take a look at the growth of pop music over the last 70 years is slated to premiere on the 22nd of June.
Several artists, bands, producers, and songwriters who burst into the limelight over this period will be interviewed on their journey to fame in the series. One of the high-profile pop stars to feature in the docuseries is award-winning country music vocalist and songwriter, Shania Twain.
The “You’re Still The One” singer has one of the best-selling studio albums ever with her 1997 album, Come On Over. The album was a huge commercial success globally, comprising several chart-topping hits for Shania Twain.
Eight Episodes Of “This Is Pop”
The Netflix “This Is Pop” docuseries has been revealed to be made up of 8 episodes, which will focus on the happenings behind the scenes that made the pop music genre rise significantly higher in seven decades.
Pop music fans will be taken on a ride into how the genre evolved within seven decades to thrill the global populace through the works of several music acts.
The eight episodes will have their unique titles with producers interviewing solo pop music stars, bands, and taking a look into the fusion of pop with country music. The titles of the episodes include “Stockholm Syndrome”, “What Can A Song Do?”, “Hail Britpop”, “Auto-tune’, “Festival Raising”, “When Country Goes Pop”, “The Brill Building In 4 Songs”, and The “Boyz II Men Effect”.
Shania Twain Appears In Trailer To Promote The New Netflix Docuseries
In a recently released promo video about the forthcoming pop music documentary, Shania is seen asking the age-long question: “What is a country song? “What is not a country song?”
Orville Peck is also in the video trailer alongside Shania. The pair collaborated on the duet song, “Legends Never Die”, which was released last year.
The “This Is Pop” docuseries will also feature the interviews of other high-profile musicians like Steve Earle, Boyz II Men, Brian Littrell, Backstreet Boys’, T-Pain, Chuck D of Public Enemy, Brandi Carlile, and Benny Andersson of the Swedish pop group, ABBA.
Fans as going to enjoy this docuseries when they get to binge on the whole 8 episodes at once from midnight PST on June 22.
The pop music docuseries sees Netflix partner with the experienced film production firm based in Canada, Banger Films. They have produced several series dedicated to their love for the hard rock metal genre like Metal: A Headbanger’s Journey, ZZ Top-That Little Ol’ Band from Texas, and Super Duper Alice Cooper.
Banger Films produced the series dedicated to Hip-Hop, which is currently streaming on Netflix.
