How old is Shania Twain?  The country music singer was born Eilleen Regina Edwards on August 28, 1965, making her 55 years old this year.

The Canadian singer and songwriter has had a huge career, selling over 100 million records to date, making her the best-selling female artist in country music history and one of the best-selling music artists of all time in any genre. In fact many of her songs have become bona fide pop hits which is why one of her nicknames is the “Queen of Country Pop.”

Twain was brought up in Timmins, Ontario, and showed her musical talent from a young age. Only after she collaborated with producer Robert John “Mutt” Lange did she achieve worldwide fame and her second studio album, The Woman in Me (1995) made clear she was a musical force that was here to stay.
That album alone sold over 20 million copies worldwide, had eight number one singles, including “Any Man of Mine” and earned her a Grammy Award.

But her third studio album, Come On Over (1997), made an even bigger dent in the music world. It went on to became the best-selling studio album by a female act in any genre as well as the best-selling country album of all time.

Shania Twain’s third album doubled the album sales of it predecessor, selling over 40 million copies worldwide. Even if you’re not a country music fan you have probably heard the breakout songs from that album: “You’re Still the One”, “From This Moment On”, “That Don’t Impress Me Much” and “Man! I Feel Like a Woman!” The album earned the impressive crossover singer four Grammy Awards.

Country Music Fan Fave Was A Vegas Act

The talented country singer released her Greatest Hits album in 2004 then left the scene for a while. Years later she revealed that she had been diagnosed with Lyme disease and dysphonia which meant she was left with a limited singing voice.

In the OWN miniseries Why Not? with Shania Twain, she addressed her career and later published an autobiography, From This Moment On.

She returned to performing with a residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, Shania: Still the One, which ran until 2014. A year later she debuted her North American Rock This Country Tour, which was billed as a farewell tour.
