Carly Pearce Gets Her First Major CMA Nomination

Northern Kentucky Native Carly Pearce Receives 2 CMA Nominations

Pearce, who is a native of Taylor Mill, seven miles outside of Covington, was among the nominees announced on Thursday. She is nominated for the Female Vocalist of the Year alongside Gabby Barrett, Miranda Lambert, Ashley McBryde and Maren Morris.

Her album “29” is also in the running for Album of the Year, competing with records from the likes of Morgan Wallen, Eric Church, Brothers Osborne and Chris Stapleton.

The country singer-songwriter was recently honored in her hometown, where the Mayor, Dan Bell, declared September 2 Carly Pearce day in Taylor Mill. Her contributions to country music also earned her recognition from her hometown, where natives gathered to celebrate her success and to appreciate her for representing her small town.

In addition to getting her very own special day in her native town, she received a key to the city, a plaque that proclaims her commission as a Kentucky Colonel, and a welcome sign that is set to be installed in the northern part of the city with her name on it.

Accepting the honors and thanking her hometown for it, she remembered when she was a little girl growing up in its streets, how she had this dream to be a country star, and her journey to actually getting where she is right now.
