Kane Brown, the singer of What Ifs, revealed that his life has changed after welcoming daughter Kingsley in 2019. The country singer, who is married to Katelyn Jae, told PEOPLE that “just holding her makes my day better.”
Kane Brown recently sat down with PEOPLE virtually to discuss how being a family man has affected his life. He appeared in the interview wearing a black top and a black cap that has the words FAMILY written in bold across its front. He said that if Kingsley gets mad, “she’s super easy to cheer up real quick,” and “if anybody ever came between me and my daughter, I don’t know what would go on.”
Brown, 27, still finds time to work and has used his time off the road due to the coronavirus pandemic to release new music and launch his record label. He also says that his wife is the “backbone” to him being able to always get stuff done.
Kane Brown On Raising a Daughter
“Kate’s been a great mom and a huge backbone for me if I have to go to the studio or if I go to a writing session. There’s never anything that she can’t handle. She never hits me up and says, ‘Hey you have to leave your write early because I have to do this.’ She’s just there, so she’s awesome.”
The couple, who has been married for almost three years, loves nothing else more than spending time with their little bundle of joy.
“We love to go in her room, put on a movie, lay on the floor, and she’ll climb on top of us,” the American Music Awards winner describes, “Our time is our family time, so it’s just great. She does everything with us, she’s the easiest baby, and we’re just worried about our second one.”
Plans for Baby Number 2?
The couple haven’t really decided when they’ll be having another child, though according to Brown, they are pretty scared about baby number 2 because “this one’s so easy that the next one’s probably going to be crazy – at least that’s how everybody tells us it happens.”
As for daughter Kingsley, Kane Brown reveals that she acts so mature and can pull up so many facial expressions for a baby. While he doesn’t want her to grow up fast, he does want her to start talking because he’s way too eager to hear what she has to say. He added that his daughter’s love of music absolutely thrills him.
