Taylor Swift Releases 1st Country Music Album In Nearly 10 Years

Taylor Swift first won hearts, fans, and awards for her country music. And although new followers may know Swift as a pop music songstress, her very first fans remember Taylor for her country roots that earned her a Grammy Award.

When it comes to the coveted Grammy Awards, the key to nabbing a nomination is to take the lead early in a specific category. For Taylor, her newest album that returns to her country music roots just might earn that distinction, according to predictions.

What Is Significant About Taylor Swift’s New Album? It All Goes Back to Her Country Music Roots!

Two months ago, the Grammy Awards bestowed its honors for 2021. Seems way too soon to even consider who might be a contender for the next round, right? Umm, well, not exactly.

Because of the way the eligibility dates are arranged, singers must release albums and songs that they want to be considered in 2022 between September 1, 2020 and August 31, 2021. That gives country music crooners only four months more to drop their contenders.

And that gives Taylor Swift a chance to prove that she still is golden when it comes to country music. Her new album is particularly significant in that regard.

Swift’s album, “Fearless,” truly marked a turning point for Taylor as a country music artist about 10 years ago. Her revised version, “Fearless (Taylor’s Version),” is considered significant because it shows her maturation both as a musician and as a country music creator.

Which Country Music Grammy Categories Could Taylor Dominate?

When it comes to the Grammy Awards, the categories play a key role in determining which singers will compete. The open question for Taylor Swift: Because she re-recorded her original country music “Fearless” album, the songstress may face challenges in how the Recording Academy regards her project as well as the individual songs.

At this point, though, experts feel that Taylor would be eligible for Best Country Album. When Swift first released “Fearless,” it won in that category. Swift also could take home Album of the Year.

But when the Grammy Award committee chooses songs, Taylor also has an opportunity to shine as a country music artist. Here’s what to consider:

● Swift can submit two of her three singles from her “Fearless (Taylor’s Version)” for the Best Country Song “You All Over Me (ft. Maren Morris) (Taylor’s Version) (From The Vault)” or “Mr. Perfectly Fine (Taylor’s Version) (From The Vault).”
● Although we loved her reprise of “Love Story,” the Grammy committee will not accept it because it’s not new.

One intriguing twist: “You All Over Me” is viewed as a duet, which means that Taylor and Maren could take home Best Country Duo/Group Performance champion.
