Parton has become famed for her desire to help her fans love their lives. As part of that dream, Dolly crafted a family-friendly theme park, known as Dollywood. Now Dolly has expanded that dream.
Inspired by her own hit tune, “HeartSong,” the country music songstress wants to provide a way for more fans to enjoy Dollywood. Step inside her future expansion, including a lodge and resort, below!
Dolly Parton Shares Her Vision For Dollywood
Located in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, the Dollywood theme park just unveiled a plan valued at a half-billion dollars! Dolly offered some clues to what the future will hold at her park, as well as discussing her pride in what she’s created in an interview with Travel & Leisure magazine.
The country music icon shared her delight in creating a destination theme park. From music to rides to food, Dollywood has become one of the most popular places for country music fans to visit.
“We have come a long way, baby!” gushed Dolly. “This was always my dream, of course, and I remember when we first opened, I was worried that nobody was going to show up, and now we’re worried too many [are] going to show up… That’s why we have to always keep expanding.”
‘Bring Your Family, Everyone Can Have Fun!’ Urges Dolly Parton
Parton has focused on developing her theme park to offer family-friendly experiences. The park’s rides and attractions appeal to parents’ “little ones, their middle ones, and even their teenagers,” says the country music songstress.
“I really think that our whole park just screams, ‘Bring your family, everyone can have fun!'” summed up Dolly.
And country music fans definitely can look forward to experiencing all types of music when they visit Dollywood, promises Parton.
“That’s what I’m all about — we’ve got to have the music. That would be kind of crazy, wouldn’t it, for us not to do some of everything. And I love the fact that since I do all sorts of music — from country, mountain, bluegrass, gospel, and rock n’ roll, I’ve done some of everything — we have some of all that in the park,” shared Dolly.
Dolly Parton Describes New Delights For Her Visitors
For those who have visited Dollywood before, Parton plans a summer celebration with new enticements. Look for events including fireworks and almost 400 drones.
Not yet ready to travel after the pandemic? Dolly has a new resort that promises to help her fans look forward to life after lockdown!
The new resort will feature a rustic appearance, designed to enhance the natural beauty of the Great Smoky Mountains. and fireworks for a spectacular event during the park’s Summer Celebration. Parton plans to open the lodge and resort, called HeartSong, in 2023.
How Dolly Parton’s Country Music Hit ‘HeartSong’ Inspired Her New Resort
Featuring 302 rooms, the HeartSong Lodge & Resort will reside close to Dollywood’s theme park as well as the DreamMore Resort and Spa.
Parton shared that she took her inspiration for the new resort from her 1994 song, HeartSong.
“I called [the resort and lodge] HeartSong, because I write songs and everything I ever done I started with a song,” explained Dolly.
Set amid the Great Smoky Mountains, Dollywood’s HeartSong Lodge and Resort will seek to help visitors experience their own “heartsongs.” The five-story hotel will include bunk rooms, family suites, and other accommodations for both groups and families.
From loft rooms to suites with themes, the HeartSong Lodge and Resort hopes to complement Dollywood’s existing attractions. Indoor and outdoor pools, an outdoor cove, and a group fire pit are among the features.
