Randy Travis Releasing New Music
Randy Travis is planning to release a deluxe version of his breakthrough album, Storms Of Life. The re-release of the album comes with the addition of three new songs and is scheduled to come out in the fall.
Randy Travis & “Storms Of Life”
Randy intends to use the release of the deluxe version of Storms Of Life to announce his upcoming album. The original Storms Of Life album was released on the 2nd of June, 1986, which makes it 35 years ago that he made the iconic collection.
The album was certified triple-platinum by the RIAA from the huge commercial success of hit songs like “Diggin’ Up Bones” and “On the Other Hand”.
Storms Of Life played a pivotal role in the return of country music to its traditional sound of the late 80s as most country music singers were infusing the pop culture into the genre at the time when Randy released his platinum-certified album.
Country music superstars who followed Randy by going back to the true roots of the genre within three years of the release of his first album include Clint Black, Garth Brooks, and Alan Jackson. At the time, Randy was already a superstar and regularly nominated for the Entertainer of The Year Award at various Country music awards.
The Deluxe Version Set For Release In September
The Storms Of Life deluxe version will be released on the 24th of September this year by Randy’s record label, Warner Music Nashville. It will comprise all the original songs that made the album a big deal for Randy, with three new songs to be included.
The three songs to be added to the deluxe Storms of Life album are “The Wall”, “Carryin’ Fire”, and “Ain’t No Use”. Most of the album was produced by Kyle Lehning, with two songs produced by Keith Stegall.
Many country music fans can be forgiven for thinking that Randy’s Storms Of Life was an instant hit. It was quite the opposite, as the first single off the album, “On the Other Hand”, didn’t even make it to the charts. Warner Music decided to push another single, “1982”, which made it into the top 10.
Randy then pushed “On The Other Hand” again and it eventually became a chart-topping hit. The legendary star of the country music genre is not the only one to have had one of his first released songs start poorly before going on to become a monster hit song.
