He opined that the snowstorm was the worst of its kind in over 70 years and has left a lot of Texans unable to access clean water as well as incapable of repair damages occasioned by the storm. This has in no small measure, ruined their homes as they are no longer habitable. He also stated that the ‘We’re Texas’ show will feature a lot of star performances from Texas natives which will aid in restoring the state.
Matthew McConaughey first mentioned the show on his YouTube channel on a video he made. He further pleaded with Texas residents to aid one another in what he described as a ‘difficult moment for all’.

The organizations will receive the funds through Texas Relief funds and McConaughey’s foundation, ‘Just Livin’ Foundation ‘.
The snowstorm visited the state last month. It was quite unexpected as different balls of snow and stormy ice were hurled at the state. This, diminished the temperature of the state as it witnessed its highest freezing in over 50 years. It also disrupted the power supply in the state as the residents were advised to boil water, which over half of the state’s residents complied with. The catastrophic snowstorm, however, claimed over 70 lives.
