Where is Sam Hunt from? Sam Lowry Hunt is a popular American vocalist and songwriter who has carved a niche for himself in the country music genre. He was born in Cedartown, Georgia, on the 8th of December, 1984.
Sam was recognized for his songwriting skills way before his success as a vocalist, as he wrote songs for fellow country artists like Rena McEntire, Billy Currington, Keith Urban, and Kenny Chesney. He became a household name with the release of his debut studio album in 2014, Montevallo, which included hits like “Leave The Night On”, “Make You Miss Me”, and “Take Your Time”.
His country music career has landed him several nominations at the Billboards Music Awards and the Grammys. He has won awards at the Academy of Country Music Awards and the American Country Music Awards for his debut album and his hit song, “Body Like a Back Road”.
He also received an ASCAP award in 2012 for his songwriting skills in the hit song by Kenny Chesney, “Come Over”.
Growing Up And Rise To Stardom
Sam is the first of three children from his parents, Allen Hunt, and his wife Joan. He went to the Cedartown High School, where he gained popularity for his athletic skills in American Football. He earned an award as the co-best Offensive Player Of The Year in 2002, as well as been included in the All-State Class AAA first team by the Sportswriters Association in Georgia.
He graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2007 with a degree in Economics. After failing to make a success out of American football during his trial with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2008, he decided to go to Nashville with a friend and pursue a musical career headlong.
His lyrical contributions to hit songs earned him a recording contract in January 2014 with MCA Nashville. His first single from the stables of MCA Nashville, “Leave The Night On”, went top of the Country Airplay charts in October 2014. The single went on to become a platinum hit as confirmed by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) later that year.
The Montevallo album and one of its hit singles, “Take Your Time”, earned Sam Hunt the record of being the first country music artist to have an album and a single go top of the charts at the end of a chart year after it was achieved by Clint Black.
Sam Hunt Relationships And Marriage
He further cemented his status as one of the best socialists in country music with the release of the chart-topping single, “Body Like A Back Road”. The single is Sam’s greatest hit song to date.
Sam got engaged to his on-and-off girlfriend, Hannah Ann Fowler, in January of 2017. The pair had been dating since 2008. Sam revealed that she was the inspiration behind his Montevallo album, with his reference to their relationship in “Drinkin’ Too Much”, one of the songs from the album. They got married in Cedartown, Georgia, on the 15th of April, 2017.
