Wynonna Judd to Continue Farewell Tour After Her Mother’s Tragic Suicide

Wynonna Judd shares exciting news with fans.  Naomi Judd, who was mother to fellow The Judds singers Ashley and Wynonna Judd, died on April 30. A day after Naomi committed suicide with a firearm, the country music mother-daughter duo were inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.

Naomi and daughter Wynonna Judd performed their very last show together 19 days before Naomi’s death at the age of 76.  The duo released many albums and toured together for years, and Wynonna is looking forward to finishing the dates on their final tour together.

Wynonna Judd Wants Final Tour To Be A Tribute to Her Mother and Musical Partner

Wynonna Judd is set to continue on the previously announced The Judd: The Final Tour dates as a tribute to her mother.  The 11-date tour is described as the “ultimate girls night out” with big country music stars like Brandi Carlile, Little Big Town, Ashley McBryde and Trisha Yearwood. Martina McBride will be opening select dates of the tour. Additional shows will be announced in the following days.

The tour, produced by Sandbox Live and Live Nation, will kick off on Sept. 30 in Grand Rapids, Mich., at Van Andel Arena, and will close on Oct. 29 with a show in Lexington, Ky., where Faith Hill will join Wynonna at Rupp Arena.

“What a full-circle moment it will be to end the tour in Kentucky where it all began.  It means so much to have my sisterfriend, Faith, join me for this musical celebration.” Wynonna said in a press release. “It is pretty amazing – all of the people who have come forward to offer up their time and their gifts. I am feeling extra grateful.”

She continued: “I am humbled, once again, by the loyalty of the fans who have been with us for 38-plus years, who continue to show up for me when I need them the most. I am grateful that we will continue to honor The Judds legacy, together.”

Naomi’s longtime husband, added, “I am so happy that in this time of grief for us all, Wynonna has agreed to move forward with this tour as my sweet wife, Naomi. would have wanted her to do.”
