Jameson Rodgers is an American country music singer born October 17, 1987. He first signed to Columbia Nashville/River House, and his debut single “Some Girls” charted on the Country Airplay chart.
Recently, Jameson Rodgers earned a No. 1 spot with his hit track “Some Girls”. And, he has some star power on his follow-up track, “Cold Beer Calling My Name,” a collaboration he successfully did with Luke Combs. Rodgers, while speaking with CMT Radio’s Cody Alan told Alan that a random Instagram message from Combs eventually led to the new collaboration.
In his words, “It’s funny. Luke hit me up back in 2016 on Instagram of all things, and this was before ‘Hurricane,’ his first big hit, which was just going to the radio at the time. He was kind of on the verge of really breaking. He said he was a fan of my first EP, and he just wanted to write. I don’t even think we finished a song, but we sat around and talked and maybe wrote half the song.”
Jameson and Luke Kept in Touch
After the Instagram incident, Rodgers and Combs stayed in touch over the years, and after Rodgers’s second EP in 2018, Combs invited him on the road to open shows for his Beer Never Broke My Heart tour in 2019.
Jameson Rodgers said at that time, he was in the studio recording ‘Cold Beer Calling My Name,’ adding that initially, he had no intentions of making the song a duet. He said it wasn’t like he was just sitting in the room thinking, ‘Oh yeah, Luke Combs is going to blow up in four years and record this with me.’ You can’t make it up.”
Jameson Rodgers Background Story
Jameson Rodgers grew up in Batesville, Mississippi, United States. Rodgers loved baseball and music and played baseball at Northwest MS Community College before finishing college. He started writing and performing songs, and eventually developing a local following along the way.
He moved to Nashville in 2010, soon after finishing college at the University of Southern Mississippi. He also co-wrote hits including Florida Georgia Line’s “Talk You Out of It” and Chris Lane’s “I Don’t Know About You,” as well as the title track of Luke Bryan’s Born Here Live Here Die album.
In 2014, Jameson Rodgers was honored with The ASCAP Foundation Leon Brettler Award. Fortunately for him, he landed a publishing deal with Combustion Music. In 2016, he released his first EP and two years down the lane, a self-titled EP in 2018, which featured the hit “Some Girls”. The song was featured on SiriusXM’s The Highway and has over 80 million streams.

Pandora Radio named Jameson Rodgers one of the 2018 Country Artists To Watch. In 2019, Rodgers signed a recording deal with River House Artists/Columbia Nashville. Again during the Covid-19 pandemic year, 2020, Jameson got his first charting song on Billboard; his debut hit “Some Girls” peaked at number 1 on Country Airplay and number 29 on Billboard Hot 100.
