George Strait and Willie Nelson will be combining their relative powers for a massive special show in Texas taking place next spring.
George Strait Talks Performing with “Outlaw” Willie Nelson
“Strait from Moody Center” will happen in the Lone Star State on the evening of April 29, 2022. The show will be put on in celebration of the opening of the Moody Center, Austin, the University of Texas‘ new 15,000-seat arena.
The one-time only concert will feature performances by Willie Nelson & Family and Randy Rogers band.
The event is even more extra-special for Willie Nelson, who will be celebrating his 88th birthday that very day.
“I’m so glad I’ll get to ‘sing one with Willie’ and I can’t think of a better place to do it than Austin, Texas,” Strait shared in a statement via press release. “Willie is an incredible musician and an even better person, so I know this will be a great night together along with our friends from Randy Rogers Band.”
George Strait Hits The Road
This will be one of the biggest shows that Strait will perform in years, because he largely retired from large-scale touring in 2012.
Nevertheless, he has been busy performing multiple headlining shows and residencies in recent years. Over the previous two weekends, he headlined the Austin City Festival for the first time in his career, not once, but twice.
For the second time this year, Willie Nelson will be releasing another full-length project “The Willie Nelson Family”. The collaborative project includes performances by Willie Nelson’s sister Bobbie Lee, sons Lukas and Micah, and daughters Amy and Paula.
Fans can get access to multiple ticketing pre-sale options for Strait from Moody Center beginning next week. For more information on tickets and pricing options is available via the Moody Center website.
