Taylor Swift Re-Envisions Her Album…and Makes History
For Taylor Swift, there’s just one word that sums up her country music success: “Amazing.”
Now 31, Swift looks back at the very beginning of her career with different eyes than when she moved from her home in Pennsylvania to Nashville, Tennessee to fulfill her country music dreams. The year was 2004… and now, well over a decade later, Taylor is re-visiting her country music roots by re-recording her original “Fearless” album.
When Swift first released the album, which marked her second time in the studio to create her own version of country music, it soared to the top spot on the Billboard 200. That year was 2008.
Now Taylor has dropped a re-recording of that same album containing six tracks that have never been released before, called “Fearless (Taylor’s Version).” The re-imagined version also soared at number one, turning into Swift’s ninth album to experience such success on Billboard.
And the country music songstress makes history by achieving Billboard’s biggest week for an album thus far in 2021, making “Fearless (Taylor’s Version)” a history-making success. In addition, Swift’s “Fearless (Taylor’s Version)” stands out as the single re-recorded album in music history to reach No. 1.
The successes that Swift has achieved don’t stop there. She also is the first woman to drop three new number one albums in less than a year: Folklore, Evermore and Fearless (Taylor’s Version).

Swift also talked with People about her vision for her re-released album.
“In terms of production, I really wanted to stay very loyal to the initial melodies that I had thought of for these songs,” explained the country music sweetheart. “And so we really did go in and try to create a ‘the same but better’ version. We kept all the same parts that I initially dreamed up for these songs. But if there was any way that we could improve upon the sonic quality, we did.”
